The charm of unspoiled nature.

We cultivate and we produce in the heart of the wildest and less known Umbria. The nature presents traits still intact of incomparable beauty that give the territory an extraordinary charm. The conformation is extremely varied with lands that privilege the cultivation of the grapevine.

Grapes. Quality first

Our grapes are the result of patient and careful selection; exclusively those of Ciliegiolo, Grechetto and Trebbiano Spoletino. Prioritizing quality creates the difference.

CILIEGIOLO. The rediscovery of lightness

It is underway the progressive affirmation of a winemaking style that leaves behind the fashion of opulent wines, with a marked extractive charge, in favor of more dynamic, lean wines, but of substance and undeniable drinkability, very versatile. Ciliegiolo perfectly interprets this evolution.

Ciliegiolo owes its name to the typical cherry aroma. Its origins are uncertain. According to some sources, it was introduced to Italy by pilgrims returning from a trip to Santiago de Compostela. Other historians argue that the origin is Etruscan. It is universally considered one of the progenitors of Sangiovese. Due to its excellent qualities, Ciliegiolo represents an authentic rediscovery.

Its characteristics

It is a black grape variety; the grapes have a very fine skin and a rather early ripening. The harvest never exceeds mid-September, the grapes tend to oxidation and in vinification to reduction. The vine is vigorous and can produce up to 150/160 quintals per hectare. It gives life to elegant wines with good acidity, non-invasive that can support well over time.

IL GRECHETTO. The irresistible taste of centuries of history

Grechetto is very ancient, dating back to the seventh century, when Greeks colonized Southern Italy creating Magna Graecia.

Its characteristics
It is a white-skinned vine and represents one of the most renowned white grapes of Umbria. I cultivate two types of Grechetto, the one from Orvieto (clone G109) and the one from Todi (clone G5). Grechetto has a good structure and quality of aromas, intense and elegant, with characteristic fruity notes. The bunch is medium sized, of medium-short length and of pyramidal and cylindrical shape, semi-compact. The alcohol content is generally quite high with good acidity. The charm of Grechetto is timeless.

TREBBIANO SPOLETINO. The rediscovered vine

Trebbiano Spoletino is an Umbria’s autochthonous vine which does not have any relationship with the other Trebbiano’s present in the center of Italy, except for the name.

Its characteristics
It differs for the characteristics of its wines, for its aromas of aromatic herbs and citrus aftertaste, together with a marked freshness and sapidity. It is a white skinned vine, it has a late ripening and tends to keep a rather high acidity, which allows it to have a surprising longevity.

MALVASIA

Malvasia is a vine with very ancient origins, whose presence in southern Umbria has been attested for centuries. This noble and historic vine owes its name to the Greek port of Monemvasia, located on the island of Candia, now Crete.

Its features
The berry is medium-sized, spheroidal, and regular, with a medium-firm, pruinose, yellowish-green skin. The vine gives a straw-yellow wine which, depending on the area of origin and the type of processing, can vary from greenish reflections to golden straw.
